Itinerary

Your day begins by meeting your expert art historian guide who has a carefully crafted itinerary of the Vatican Museums. You will look around an incredible and wide range of galleries filled to the ceiling with ancient sculptures, medieval maps, pristine paintings, fine tapestries and rare relics.

In the Sistine Chapel, you will see Michelangelo's frescoes, which hide hidden secrets, including a personal message to the Pope. After visiting the Sistine Chapel, your guide will take you to St. Peter's Basilica. Here, Michelangelo reappears under the vast dome he designed for the basilica, with his name carved into his famous sculpture – La Pietá. When you exit through St. Peter's Square, you will have free time to continue exploring the basilica on your own and even have a bite to eat at a local Italian cafe.

In the early afternoon, once you are rested and well fed, you will join your guide at the Colosseum, one of the greatest wonders of the world. Your local English-speaking guide is an expert in archeology and history, so he will take you back in time to the ancient Roman Empire.
